Optional SMS notifications for Thirsty Thursday Picks contests

Thirsty Thursday Picks is a private, invitation-only sports contest app for small groups of friends. If a commissioner has already invited you, you may optionally sign up here to receive contest-related SMS notifications. SMS is not required to participate. Your commissioner can share contest links and results through other methods if you prefer not to receive texts. Users receive SMS only after direct consent, which is recorded through the web form or obtained personally by a commissioner who knows the participant.

Opt-In Process

The following steps describe exactly how a person becomes a recipient of SMS messages from Thirsty Thursday Picks:

Personal Invitation A contest commissioner (a trusted individual who knows each participant personally) personally invites a friend or contact to join a private sports picks contest and requests their mobile phone number.

Consent & Enrollment The invited person provides their mobile phone number and consent — either directly to the commissioner, or by submitting the form on this page below — agreeing to receive SMS notifications for the contest.

Manual Entry by Commissioner The commissioner logs into the Thirsty Thursday Picks application and manually enters the participant's name and mobile phone number into a private group.

Contest Activation When a contest is activated, the participant receives a single SMS with a personalized link to submit their picks. No messages are sent without a contest being active.

    Important: No unsolicited messages are ever sent. Every recipient is a personal contact of the commissioner who has agreed to participate. Mobile phone numbers are only collected via direct commissioner entry or the consent form below — never from a purchased list or any other automated means.
  

Optional SMS Sign-Up

If you have already been invited to a group and would like SMS reminders, you can submit your information below. This form is only for optional SMS notifications. Submitting this form records your consent to receive optional SMS notifications for a group you were already invited to. Group membership itself is managed by the commissioner — SMS consent is only for text-message notifications and is not required to participate. SMS notifications are a convenience only and are not required to access or use Thirsty Thursday Picks.

SMS is optional. You do not need to sign up for text messages to participate in a Thirsty Thursday Picks contest.

Messages You Will Receive

Contest Invitation — a text with your personalized picks link when a new contest is created
Pick Reminder — a reminder approximately 2 hours before picks lock, only if you haven't submitted yet
Results Recap — a final summary when the contest concludes

Message Frequency & Rates

Message frequency: Typically 2–4 messages per contest.

Message and data rates may apply.

To resume SMS: If you have previously opted out and wish to receive messages again, submit a new consent request below or contact the commissioner who invited you.

To opt out: Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, or REVOKE to any message to stop receiving texts. You can also contact the commissioner who invited you and ask to be removed from the group.
